LG G3 release date, specs: The launch of LG's upcoming high-end smartphone is well timed since most flagships phones, excluding the iPhone 6 are already in the market - the Galaxy S5, the Xperia Z2, and the new One . The LG G3 release date is planned in the U.S. and London on May 27. The LG G3 is well poised to upstage recent releases, particularly the touted Samsung Galaxay 5 and the HTC One M8.

LG, manufacturer of 'the much-loved G2 and Google's Nexus 5' is preparing to unveil the G3, according to reports. The new LG flagship will sport a number of high end specs and perhaps inspire a next-gen Nexus 6 for Google.

Leaked photos from GSMArena reveals that the G3 will sport G2's back buttons in place for a rounder corner. But the trend in smartphone manufacturing is not to change anything that worked on a previous product.

LG is prepping something special for 2014, the LG G3, and as a latecomer to the smart phone market, it could have a considerable pricing advantage over the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5. The LG G3 release date would be next month, featuring an array of high-end specs and could inspire Google's next-gen Nexus 6.

The gold colored theme was started by Apple's iPhone 5S in 2013 and HTC and Samsung mimicked the Cupertino firm. It appears LG is doing the same thing with a gold colored LG G3.

LG's G3 is likely to be the first 1440p phone from the major manufacturers. Benchmarking software An Tu Tu reported leaks of LG G3 specs with Ubergizmo describing a display with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and a Qualcomm Adreno 330 graphics processing unit.

Evleaks leaked image shows a 'bezel-less front' along with a QHD 5.5" display.

Supported by microSD cards, two variants of the LG G3: a 16GB storage along with 2GB of RAM. The second variant will carry 32GB inbuilt storage and 3GB of RAM.

Among the other touted features are the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS+), for the rear 13MP cam and a solid 3000 mAh battery to go with it.

Etnews, a South Korean site reports that the LG G3 has gone into the mass production assembly line, which means LG will be ready for launch in late May launch is on the cards. The sales target for LG has been set to 10 million, an ambitious figure for LG. However, the success of the LG G2 and the Nexus 5 point to a realistic goal for the Korean phone maker.
