Move over The Incredibles, there's a new superhero team in town as Walt Disney released the first trailer of their new superhero movie, Big Hero 6 inspired by the Marvel superhero team of the same name. Will this be Disney's next blockbuster hit since Frozen?
Big Hero 6 us an upcoming 3D computer-animated superhero film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and is directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams. It is also credited as the first animated feature adapted from the Marvel characters since the Disney's acquisition of Marvel Entertainment in 2009.
The story of Big Hero 6 is set on fictional metropolis called San Fansokyo (based on San Francisco and Tokyo) where a young prodigy named Hiro Hamada and his robot Baymax attempts to create a superhero team as he uncovers a criminal plot within the city. Joining them is a group of inexperienced crime fighters which includes Wasabi-No-Ginger, Honey Lemon, GoGo Tomago, and Fred.
The characters in the movie are based on the Japanese Marvel Super team of the same name. The group have also gain X-Men members such as Sunfire and Sunpyre, as well as the super villain Silver Samurai.
So will Big Hero 6 be the next blockbuster since Frozen? Well that would be a very bold statement to claim since Frozen has one many accolades including two Academy awards for Best Animated feature and Best Original Song ("Let it Go"). Will Big Hero surpass Frozen in the box office? We'll just to find out as Big Hero 6 is scheduled to be released on November 7, 2014.
