If you haven't watched the film yet, better think twice before proceeding!
Marvel never fails to keep their avid fans speculating on what storyline and setting will be adapted next in their movies and X-Men Days of the future past end credits scene might be the most intriguing one since Thanos' introduction in The Avengers end credits.
Without further redo, the scene gives the viewers a first look at the villainous Apocalypse, an extremely powerful and dangerous arch nemesis who has created problems for the X-Men and X-Factor teams over the years. But the scene is set in Ancient Egypt, as we're witnessing the Great Pyramids being moved around and assembled. Kinberg says the reason for that decision was as follows:
"What you see is Apocalypse sort of using his powers to manipulate the Pyramids. And in the shot, you can see The Four Horseman sort of in shadow, or silhouette. Now, when we make the movie, it will not take place in ancient times. We went back and forth a lot on... what that scene should be. Bryan and I just locked into this idea of seeing Apocalypse at the height of his power and glory, which is what we imagined would have been in Egyptian times. It was just to give a tease of, 'This guy is super-powerful, and there was a moment in time when he was essentially treated as a god, and he's going to rise again in X-Men: Apocalypse.'"
It would be interesting if we will see Magneto and Professor X (Charles Xavier) cooperate with each other again and if Jean Grey will be part of the film as well. For those who were able to watch X-Men The Last Stand, Jean already died but was seen alive in Days of the Future Past.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.
