Harrison Ford hospitalized and had to be airlifted to the hospital after he suffered a bad ankle injury while filming on the set of 'Star Wars: Episode VII' in London on June 11.
Harrison Ford, 71, was taken to a London hospital on June 11 after he hurt his ankle in an accident that took place on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII.
The force was NOT with Harrison on June 11, when a hydraulic door reportedly fell and hit him, possibly breaking his ankle, Variety reports. The legendary actor was filming at Pinewood studios in England when the accident occurred, and he was airlifted to the hospital shortly after.
Disney said in a statement: "Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates."
We hope Harrison is back in action soon! We're more excited than ever for the latest installment of Star Wars, especially after the first photos from the set were released in early June, according to TMZ.
The pics were leaked from the set in Abu Dhabi, where the flick had been filming for a month. One of the pics is of an extraordinary creature, which TMZ reports is an alien that appears in two scenes. The extraterrestrial is shown in a Tatooine marketplace, where it's being manpowered by five men in its belly - so cool!
Jedi sources tell TMZ the new alien was manned by 5 men inside its belly ... and was used in two scenes taking place in what looks like a Tatooine marketplace (Star Wars nerds get it)
According to reports, producers intend to use less CG in the new movies -- instead, relying heavily on practical effects like the original trilogy ... which is evident in these photos.
