In May fans became aware that actress Gong Hyo Jin and actor Lee Jin Wook were dating. The two either met during a Seoul fashion event in March of 2013 or a New York City film event that took place later in 2013. Either way, this spring the two actors were seen on a date by SportsSeoul reporters.
When confronted, both actors' agencies confirmed the fact that the actors started out as friends but had already been dating for a few months. The fact that they are a couple is no longer news but a recent article suggested that they are engaged.
In a Korea Herald article posted on June 20, the reporter referred to Gong Hyo Jin as Lee Jin Wook's fiancée.
In the article, the reporter said that "Actor Lee Jin-wook was shocked by the news of his fiancée and actress Gong Hyo Jin's car accident."
The couple has not publicly stated they are engaged.
Did the reporter make a mistake? Or do the actors have something else they need to reveal to the public?
The reporter used those words in an article about Lee Jin Wook's reaction to Gong Hyo Jin's accident. When Gong Hyo Jin was injured, reporters asked Lee Jin Wook how he felt when he heard the news. The actor's agency Will Entertainment said that the actor was very upset when he learned about the accident and had to "calm his pounding heart."
Since it was a freeway accident, he thought the worst, worrying that she was terribly hurt. He was relieved to discover that the injuries were relatively minor.
The three-car-rear-end collision happened when Gong Hyo Jin was returning home from the set of her upcoming drama "It's Okay, It's Love." It took place on a highway from Gyeonggi to Seoul. Gong, her driver and the drivers of the other vehicles were taken to a nearby hospital.
The actress' agency, Soop Entertainment, told reporters that her injury was not serious.
According to her agency, "She sustained a scratch on her forehead and her left arm was fractured."
The agency also revealed that Gong, last seen in "The Master's Sun," might possibly need surgery and some rest to recover. It is not known how this will affect the filming schedule for her upcoming drama "It's Okay, It's Love," which co-stars Jo In Sung. In that drama she plays a psychiatrist and he plays a man with a problem.
Lee Jin Wook also faces a busy schedule as he is set to appear in "The Three Musketeers" with Jung Yong Hwa.
What do you think about the possibility that Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook are engaged?
