Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. takes a break from his powered suit of armor as he takes on a more dramatic role in The Judge. He plays the part of Hank Palmer, a big city lawyer, who is set to discern the dark past of his father Joseph Palmer, played by Academy Award winner Robert Duvall.
The film directed by David Dobkin, is slated to come out on October, which according to Downey's recent Facebook post has "lots of heart and wit" and "might be the best thing" he has been part of yet.
With regards to the storyline, the Academy Award nominee narrates "When a miserable hotshot Chicago lawyer returns home to a small town in Indiana for his mother's funeral, he is forced to deal with a lifetime at odds with his legendary stoic superior court justice father (aka The Judge)."
Some of the conflicts and plot twists have been circulating online, like how 'The Judge' was accused as the murderer of his wife. But the more thrilling part of the story revolves around Hank Palmer's discovery of truth. Will the ending remain faithful to the father and son relationship? Will justice prevail? Or both?

In keeping with Downey's post, this original story is indeed a "modern tale of conflict, judgment, death, regret, irony, family, dysfunction, hilarity, and of course, unconditional love."
But another question is, will the intense scenes finally bring Downey an Oscar? An article from Indiewire recalls an interview with the actor and we can say that he has been very much positive about bagging an award after saying, "Well, I know it's going to happen,"
"I, personally, would be shocked if we went to the end of the tape now and I didn't have at least one....Because I'm young enough, and I'm running down being occupied with these kind of genre movies, close enough. Even the next thing ['The Judge'] we're doing with the missus, I'm so confident about it. It's the best script the studio has; it's the best thing I've read in years, "the 49-year-old actor shared.
The Judge is also the first movie produced through their Team Downey Production Company at Warner Bros.
