This is a crucial match for both teams, as it is their last chance to make it into the last 16.
Italy had a winning World Cup campaign opener against England at 2-1, but fell short keeping up to Costa Rica's prowess with their last match yesterday, which ended in a draining 0-1 defeat. However, the Azzurri only need at least a draw to advance in the Round of 16.
On the other hand, Uruguay had also a win and a loss up to date. Their opener against Costa Rica, with Luis Suarez out of the field, had cost them a defeat at 3-1. Then, for their next match for the Group D against England was like their saving grace, as Suarez scored twice for the team, thus a 2-1.
"I'm enjoying this moment," said Suarez as the team won against England. Now, to qualify for the next Round of 16, Uruguay must really win against Italy.
Italy's team coach Cesare Prandelli is more than ever focused on the match. "We have only one necessity now," he said.
"We must regain our energy. ... With this match either you're in or you're out and I'm hoping to see an Italy with a different approach."
And he is correct about the game being a do or die.
Italy is hinting that they would change their line up for the match, incorporating Ciro Immobile, who goaled 22 times in the last Serie A, together with star striker Mario Balotelli.
The defence of Italy will be composed of probably Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Barzagli, and midefielder Marco Verratti.
On the other hand, Uruguay is of course, heavily relying on their top scorer, Suarez, to win the team's game again.
Predictions: Uruguay's Suarez is really unstoppable in the field. Italy may have great players, but can they control Uruguay's fire? I am betting on a 2-1 win for Uruguay.
