There isn't a friendship more random than one between a pickle and a peanut.

Disney Television Animation is willing to explore the relationship between the two, as the network has launched production on a new buddy series, titled "Pickle & Peanut," according to Deadline.com.

Jon Heder and Johnny Pemberton will provide the voices for Pickle and Peanut. Noah Z. Jones of "Fish Hooks" created the series while Joel Trussell developed it, according to Variety.

Disney Television Animation will reportedly use a mix of 2-D animation and live-action clips to tell the story of the "emotional pickle and freewheeling peanut."

"We see very few pitches that are as funny and original as 'Pickle &Peanut.' We instantly fell in love with these characters, and Noah and Joel have built a world with visual style and sensibility unlike anything on TV," stated Eric Coleman, Disney Television Animation's senior VP of original series.

According to The Futon Critic, Lisa Salamone, Senior VP of Production added, "We have the best and brightest production talent in the animation industry to help deliver the inspiring stories and enduring characters that will entertain kids and families and uphold Disney's unparalleled animation legacy."

Disney Television Animation is also producing a third season of new "Mickey Mouse" cartoon shorts for Disney Channel and Disney XD. Disney Channel has also reportedly ordered a second season of Craig McCracken's animated comedy "Wander Over Yonder."

"Pickle & Peanut" is expected to premiere fall 2015.
