Lately, Yahoo reported that Zendaya was the chosen actress to play the role of the late R&B princess, Aalliyah for the "Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B Movie."
Recently, on AllHipHop.com's Aaliyah movie news, it is said that Aaliyah's family has disagree with the Lifetime film and voiced out their refusal to contact them when creating "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B."
According to some sources, Aaliyah's cousin Jomo Hankerson, the latest member of Aaliyah's family, speak out against the Lifetime movie. She's not only a member but the president of her label Blackground Records. She stated that:
"I don't have a problem with her. It's never been about the actress. The problem that we have is that Aaliyah was an icon and she deserves an iconic tribute, not a Lifetime movie."
The main cast of the movie Zendaya said during the interview with Zapped:
"The family was my number one concern. My thing was about the mother and the brother and Lifetime reached out. I didn't feel comfortable until they did, so they're working on that and reaching out to the family and making sure that everything is okay,"
