"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker will be making her return to TV with a new series "Busted."

Sidney Kimmel Entertainment has optioned the rights to "Busted: A Tale of Corruption And Betrayal In The City Of Brotherly Love," a police crime thriller written by Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker, according to Deadline.com.

"Busted" will be SKE's debut television project with "True Detective" producers Anonymous Content.

Sarah Jessica Parker is attached to star as one of the two leads for the upcoming TV show, according to Variety.

David Frankel will reportedly direct the pilot and executive produce while Don Ross will write the pilot. Carla Hacken, president of production at SKE will also be executive producing.

The book is based on investigative reporters Wendy Ruderman's and Barbara Laker's non-fiction book of the same name.

The book chronicles the efforts to uncover one of the biggest police corruption scandals in Philadelphia's history.

The 2009 10-month series of articles in the Philadelphia Daily News titled "Tainted Justice" earned them a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting.

"Wendy and Barbara have written an amazing true story, and we're thrilled for it to be SKE's first television project. Sarah Jessica's coming on board, along with David Frankel and Don Ross is simply a perfect combination that we couldn't be happier about," Hacken, and SKE president Tim Taruber, said in a statement.
