Floyd Mayweather news features "The Money Team's" intent to face either Amir Khan or Miguel Cotto for the top pound-for-pound boxer's next fight.

In a report by the Australian edition of the International Business Times, Floyd Mayweather's camp is limited to these two fighters, and has yet to officially make an announcement about his final opponent of choice.

Miguel Cotto last fought early this month against Argentine superstar Sergio Martinez for the lineal middleweight title, where he came out victorious via a 10th round stoppage.

Not only did "Junito" compete and won at 160 lbs for the first time in his career, but he also made history as the first Puerto Rican boxer to win world titles in four different weight classes.

Amir Khan, on the other hand, is also coming off a victory against Luis Collazo in early May, where he won both the vacant WBA International and WBC Silver welterweight belts.

And while "King Khan" has been put on Floyd Mayweather's shortlist for his next opponent, the British boxer will not be able to comply with "Money's" scheduled fight for September, due to his Islam commitments for Ramadan.

However, he still believes that he will get his chance to face Floyd Mayweather sooner or later.

"The fight between me and Floyd Mayweather is going to happen one day," Khan told Sky Sports regarding the Floyd Mayweather news. "As long as I keep winning and putting on great performances, it is definitely going to happen."

Meanwhile, another one of "Money's" opponents wants another crack at him. Marcos "El Chino" Maidana, who most recently faced Floyd Mayweather, spoke through his adviser Sebastian Contursi about being in talks with the Mayweather camp about an immediate rematch.

"I have to talk to (Mayweather's adviser) Al Haymon this week and sit and discuss what's ahead, if Floyd's going to keep his word and give Maidana a rematch, but we haven't discussed that yet," Contursi said in an interview with Boxingscene.com regarding the Floyd Mayweather news.
