Nick Robinson, who is now shooting Jurassic World, is set to star in the movie version of the young adult, sci-fi book The 5th Wave. Newcomer Alex Roe, is also in negotiations to appear in the movie.

Meanwhile, Chloe Grace Moretz (Hugo, Carrie) is already confirmed as part of the cast. The 17-year old actress recently bagged an award at the 40th Annual Saturn Awards in California, Thursday, for her performance as Carrie in the 2013 film adaptation of the famous Stephen King novel. She won Best Performance By A Younger Actor.

The 5th Wave is a popular young adult, science fiction book by Rick Yancey that has garnered positive reviews from Publishers Weekly and Kirkus. The novel is set on planet earth, which has just endured four waves of alien invasions. A fifth wave is expected to come, and the story follows the exploits of 16-year Cassie (to be played by Moretz) who is on a mission to save her younger brother.

The book was on the The New York Times best-sellers list for 20 weeks, and 240,000 copies had been sold. It won the UK 2014 Red House Children's Book Award. Yancey is planning to write a second book, The Infinite Sea, which will be released in September.

Robinson is expected to play the role of Zombie, a boy that Chloe admired from school, but is now a merciless alien assassin. His path to stardom started with the coming-of-age film Kings of Summer. The 19-year old was noticed by Steven Spielberg himself, and cast him in the lead for Jurassic World.

Roe on the other hand, is Evan, the boy who may be the crucial element in defeating the aliens. The 5th Wave will be his first feature film role.

J Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Pitch Perfect) is rumored to direct the movie, while Susannah Grant (Ever After, Erin Brokovich) will write the screenplay with Yancey.
