Director Leaks Peek on ‘X-men Apocalypse’ Movie Script! Newest Installment In The Marvel Franchise Opens With An Origin Story, The Four Horsemen Picks Up From Where ‘Days Of Future Past’ Left Off

Bryan Singer teased fans with a peak of the "X-men Apocalypse" movie script, posting an Instagram snapshot of the film's opening scene in screenplay.

Following on the success of "X-men: Days of Future Past," Singer is set to reprise his involvement in the series, now confirmed to direct an upcoming installment; the ancient mutant Apocalypse is set to duke it out with the X-men.

Singer created a new Instagram account today, seemingly for the sole purpose of releasing teases to the new X-men movie. The first post is a snapshot of the script, a monologue written June 6.

The opening monologue for the new X-men movie backgrounds a battle in Egypt's Nile, involving the Four Horsemen teased on the end credits of "X-men: Days of Future Past." Singer's Instagram post is expected to be a direct confirmation of his involvement in the film.

Others were considered to take on Singer's role in the X-men and Marvel franchise after the director was sued for sexual assault. Marvel Studios has backed up Singer through the controversy, though, and the success of "Days of Future Past" helped boost his credibility as well.

Prior to the leaked "X-men Apocalypse" movie script, Singer has also posted a Twitter photo of himself last week, polishing the script for the new movie with Simon Kinberg and Michael Dougherty. Dougherty is contributing to the screenplay (yahoo.com).

"X-men: Apocalypse" is slated for official launch May 27, 2016, and is expected to compete with "Days of Future Past" in box-office earnings.

The Instagram photo only revealed a small part of the script, the setting of the battle and the involvement of the Four Horsemen, confirmed to appear in the end-credit tease in the previous X-men film. The opening scene does confirm the beginnings of Apocalypse, though, as a warmonger 3,000 years in the past.

Fan favorite Quicksilver is expected to play a more significant role in the "X-men Apocalypse" movie script; Jean Grey and Cyclops will also make a comeback, according to insider reports (screenrant.com).
