Warner Bros. premiered the Horrible Bosses 2 trailer July 1, Tuesday, and from the looks of it, the cast from the original movie -- Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis are all back for this sequel.
Horrible Bosses 2 follows in the footsteps of its successful original movie which was released in 2011. The first movie was a dark comedy directed by Seth Gordon, which starred Bateman, Day, and Sudeikis, and other stellar actors such as Jennifer Aniston, Kevin, Spacey, Colin Farrell, and Jaimie Foxx.
The first story involved three friends who plan to kill their abusive bosses (who were played by Space, Aniston, and Farrell). The film enjoyed a successful box office run. It earned over $200 million dollars, to become the most successful dark comedy of all time, eclipsing the previous record holder, The War of the Roses (1990).
This sequel now follows the exploits of the three main characters as they try to set up their own business in order to escape the life of an employee.
The official synopsis reads:
"Fed up with answering to higher-ups, Nick, Dale and Kurt decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business in "Horrible Bosses 2." But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them. Outplayed and desperate, and with no legal recourse, the three would-be entrepreneurs hatch a misguided plan to kidnap the investor's adult son and ransom him to regain control of their company."
Chris Pine (Star Trek) and Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds) join the cast to foil the plans of the main characters. Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, and Jamie Foxx will be back to reprise their roles.
This sequel will be directed by Sean Anders, who co-wrote the movie's script. The movie is set to hit theaters on November 26.
