"Star Wars 7" news revealed a poignant moment for "Clerks" director Kevin Smith who walked away very impressed after visiting the set. The Stormtroopers will also reportedly be seen in the seventh installment of the franchise.
Kevin Smith fueled the "Star Wars 7" news frenzy when he posted a photo on Instagram showing him in tears. He then captioned the photo: "Visited JJ and his EP VII set. I signed the NDA [non-disclosure agreement] so all I can share are this old Bantha-Tracks subscriber's tears and snotty nose of joy. The Force is WITH this movie. Holy Sith..."
According to UK's Independent, Kevin Smith's "seal of approval will no doubt please fans worried about the JJ Abrams-isation of the franchise, given that Smith is something of a purist and long-time sci-fi and comic book fan."
In a message to his crew, JJ Abrams thanked them for being part of the film: Let's take good care of, not just ourselves, but each other. Amazing, but true: the world awaits this film. Let's give them something great."
In related "Star Wars 7" news, the stormtroopers seem to be making an appearance in the movie, even as the plot for JJ Abrams' vision still remains under wraps.
According to Flickering Myth, JJ Abrams supposedly asked Kevin Smith, "Did you see the Stormtroopers?" to which the director can only smile and nod in agreement.
Kevin Smith then expressed his excitement for the show.
"You know, people keep saying that I liked the last trilogy and I did. I liked [Episode] 1, 2 and 3. But I liked them as an adult - when I watched them they didn't give me the same feeling I had when I was seven watching them for the first time and that's fine," he said.
"This movie though... Dude, I cried four times... [J.J] has f---ing captured it, man. He has nailed it," Kevin Smith reportedly said per Flickering Myth.
