Lord of the Rings fans are eagerly looking forward to the third installment of The Hobbit franchise.Last April, it was revealsed that the title of the third movie would be: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Fans can't wait to see the final movie in the series, since the second movie was such a succcess. The Desolation of Smaug screened in 2013, and it starred Martin Freeman along with "Sherlock" co-star, Benedict Cumberbatch.
The movie was both a critical and box-office success. It grossed $ 958 at the worldwide box office, surpassing the earnings of both The Fellowship of the Ring, and The Two Towers. The Desolation of Smaug became the fourth-highest grossing film of 2014, and the 24th of all time.
But what about this new movie's much-awaited trailer?
Director Peter Jackson has just announced on Facebook that the full trailer for the last Hobbit film will "not be released until October."
The Academy-award winning director explained that the trailer will not be released until then because there is lots more to be done to complete it. "The complex VFX work required to produce the battle shots we're all wanting to see are simply not far enough along yet," Jackson said.
But he added that he had just completed a teaser trailer. "Yesterday, I finished work on a Teaser Trailer and that has just been delivered to Warner Bros. So no doubt this Teaser Trailer will be making its way into the world sometime soon..."
Many are guessing that the trailer will premiere at the San Diego Comic Con.
Warner Bros., which carries The Hobbitm, is part of the panel. After all, Peter Jackson and his cast dropped by the popular comic convention last 2012 to promote the Hobbit franchise, but missed it in 2013.
2014 might be a good year to promote The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies at this well-attended event via the first teaser trailer of the movie.
In the meantime, Peter Jackson has also posted a Facebook photo of a shot from filming of The Battle of the Five Armies, which features him and Martin Freeman.
