Warner Bros. Pictures has just announced that they will be presenting the films, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Jupiter Ascending at the San Diego Comic-con later this month, in Hall-H of the convention.
Fans are excited that this might be the ocassion where they will finally be able to catch a glimpse of the first The Hobbit 3 trailer. After all, Peter Jackson has confirmed that he has already finished working on the teaser trailer.
Warner Bros. has brought Peter Jackson and The Hobbit team to Comic-Con before. They were there in 2012 to promote the first Hobbit movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Peter Jackson himself will be the one to present the latest hobbit film, while George Miller will be there to promote Mad Max: Fury Road.
As for Jupiter Ascending, there is no word yet from Warner Bros. on who will be attending. This movie, which was originally set to premiere on July 18, has been pushed back to the later date of February 2015. Hopefully, its presentation at Comic-Con will allow more promotional buzz for the sci-fi flick.
Curiously enough, Warner Bros. is not presenting the Batman v. Superman movie in this year's Comic-Con. Last year, director Zack Snyder thrilled attendees at his announcement of this epic superhero movie.
As for The Hobbit 3 trailer, aside from the fact that Jackson has confirmed an already finished teaser trailer, which could possibly be debuted at Comic-Con, the full-length trailer will not be seen until later this year.
He said, "The complex VFX work required to produce the battle shots we're all wanting to see are simply not far enough along yet," Jackson said.
The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies will hit movie screens on December 17, 2014, while the San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 24-27.
