With the pilot episode for Guillermo del Toro's new FX series, "The Strain," already scaring its audience, spine-tingling creatures created by the acclaimed director in past are brought to mind.
Del Toro has directed several movies that involve creatures and monsters that are quite interesting. He made popular the strange pale monster in Pan's Labyrinth with eyes on its palms instead of its head called Pale Man. There was also Pan's mentor and guardian of sorts that looked like a mix of a centaur and a goat called the Faun.
Who would forget the vampires in the "Blade" franchise? Del Toro made them twice as scary as they evolved in the second movie, with their mouths looking like powerful sharp tubes. It looks like the director drew inspiration from the Reaper to create "The Strain" vampires.
The director's trademark monsters don't stop there. He also directed "Hellboy" and "Hellboy 2" where the main character and his friends look nothing like normal humans-from the demon-born Hellboy to the Abe Sapien and his blue skin and gills.
