If 2013 was the year if the k-drama celebrity wedding, 2014 might shape up to be the year of the k-drama baby bump. Actresses Han Ga In and Park Jin Hee are both expecting their first child. And Han Hye Jin may be the next k-drama actress to start a family.
Han Ga In, who was last seen in "The Moon Embracing The Sun," has been married to actor Yun Jung Hoon for over 10 years but the couple is expecting their first child this fall. Yun Jung Hoon said they hoped to have a child this year because it is The Year of The Horse and that's his astrological sign.
While they agreed on when to have a baby, they had different preferences as to the child's gender.
"I want a girl but my wife wants a son," said Jun.
Han Ga In does not plan on acting during her pregnancy but the "I Summon You Gold" actor has a role in the drama "A Time of Love."
Park Jin Hee married her non-celebrity boyfriend, a lawyer, in May. She recently announced that she is four months pregnant. The actress who last appeared in the 2013 historical drama "Hur Jun, The Original Story," has no plans to act during her pregnancy. The actress has been active in charities that help children around the world,
Han Hye Jin caused a stir recently when she was seen visiting an OB/GYN in the Cheomdamdong area of Seoul. This led to rumors that the actress and her husband soccer player Ki Seung Yung were expecting their first child.
Her agency, Namoo Actors, denied the rumors, saying that while it was true that she visited the maternity specialist, it was just for a regular screening.
"We have not heard news of a pregnancy," said the Namoo representative.
Han Hye Jin and Ki Seung Young married in July 2013. She traveled to Wales to live with him as he plays there for an English team. However, she returned to Korea to film the drama "One Warm Word."
When interviewed at the beginning of 2014 she said that she and her husband had no specific schedule for having children. Although she is eight years older than her husband, they are both busy with their careers.
"I think it'll happen naturally," she said in an interview with Star News. "If it's planned out, I heard it's just more stressful. Work, kids, we're just going with the flow."
