Good news for Dishonored fans as the sequel of the game might already be nearing its release date announcement. Back in March, plenty of rumors had surfaced indicating that Dishonored II: Darkness of Tyvia would be unveiled at this year's E3. E3 passed by and contrary to those rumors, nothing happened. Perhaps, Bethesda would like to keep it on close doors until enough material is available for release. VG247 has just reported that Dishonored II will be unveiled to the public at this year's Gamescom.
According to VG247, the full title of this new Dishonored game will be 'Dishonored II: Darkness of Tyvia', will be developed by Arkane, will be coming on current-gen platforms only (PC, Xbox One and PS4) and targets a November 2015 release.
VG247 has also got its hands on the pre-order boxart of the PS4 version that can be viewed below.
Bethesda has not commented on this rumor as of yet.
Dishonored is a first person stealth-action game developed by Arkane Studios, creators of Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, and published by Bethesda Softworks, publisher of games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 3. The project is headed by Harvey Smith (Co-creative director), the lead designer of Deus Ex, and Raf Colantonio, the founder of Arkane Studios. Viktor Antonov, the visual design director, who also designed most of the style of City 17, the Combine architecture, and their technology in Half-Life 2, has said that the game has a Lovecraftian feel to it, and draws some inspiration from Half-Life 2, at the request of the production team. Besides Half-Life 2, Viktor said that they derived inspiration for the visual style of the game from books and artwork, as opposed to video games and movies..
