A new trailer of Fox's new crime drama Gotham has been revealed and it features a possible easter egg of Batman's arch-nemesis the Joker.

The trailer shows an emphasis of what is "The Good. The Evil. The Beginning." As Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) enters the crime scene surrounded by the cast of the show: Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Camren Bocondova), Oswald Coblepot/ The Penguin (Robin Taylor Lord), Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), Edward Nigma/ The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), and Harvel Bullock (Donal Logue).

McKenzie provided the voice-over for the trailer as he explains that Gordon will return to the city to fight crime and corruption before it consumes the city.

"This is my city, I've come back because I care what's happening to it. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who cares. This town is at a tipping point. Crime and corruption ooze from every corner. Someone needs to take a stand against it all - and that is where we come in."

The trailer ends with Gordon holding a newspaper that says "War Hero Nakes Detective" with "Welcom Home" written in blood.

Comic fans debated about the blood written message being a possible Joker easter egg of the show.

Comicbookvine reports that an allege Batman Facebook fan page claimed that this is Jokers work stating that DC did the same thing when they promoted Heath Ledger's Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight.

Others debated that it is not the Joker because of the lack of "HA HA HA's" in the message, meaning it might be a different character.

One thing is certain though, the Joker will appear in Gotham TV series as it was reported that "multiple" Joker characters will appear in the show.

BleedingCool has reported that possible comedians in each episode will likely be the Joker each emphasizing aspects of the character's iconography, a card sharp, a flower seller, a clown, or just a guy with a very big grin.

The website claimed that Jon Beavers might actually be the Joker in the series.

Gotham TV series will air on September 22, 2014.
