Samsung Galaxy S5 News: About a month ago, the Samsung Galaxy S5 got released with all the latest tech gizmos available on the market. As such, it came as a surprise that a firmware update of the same Android 4.4.2 KitKat got rolled out to the European G900F variant of the Galaxy S5.

The small update will install the XXU1ANE2 firmware on the smartphone. While there isn't any new content coming with the update, it does add in some fixes and tweaks to the original KitKat OS. The entire focus of the update was to improve the overall UI and Samsung-based applications.

The new firmware, with the build number XXU1ANE2, includes camera enhancements and fixes for issues with the Galaxy S5's fingerprint scanner, according to Team Android. The new Android 4.4.2 KitKat XXU1ANE2 stock firmware for the Galaxy S5 SM-G900F is currently available via Samsung Kies and as an over-the-air update. But users can also update their devices to the new firmware manually using Odin.

Here are a few aspects that users should note before they manually flash the new firmware:

- All data stored in the handset should be backed up

- The device must have at least 80 percent battery power

- The USB drivers for the device must be installed on the computer

- USB Debugging must be enabled

Samsung Galaxy S5 users can keep a look out for an update notification as it was launched via OTA. If there isn't a prompt, users can manually check for it via the Software Update option in the device's settings.

In the other hand, S5 users can force this latest update into their device via the ODIN app. Of course, this is not recommended unless you are an advanced user.
