HTC, the pioneer of smartphones, has been climbing the ranks once again! Their reputation as providers of top-notch smartphones will only get better as they are set to announce and release more upcoming HTC phones for 2014, this time for other markets.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the Taiwanese brand has just officially launched two new handsets for the Indian market. This time, they will concentrate their attention to the mid-tier market.

Several weeks ago, the HTC One E8 was announced and boats similar specs and features with the One M8 flagship. However, to match with its target market, the One E8 takes off the metal casing of the M8, but instead is protected by a durable polycarbonate plastic.

As per the camera resolution, it will feature a 13MP primary camera, and not the 4MP Duo Camera of its more expensive M8. Aside from the two major features, most of the specs are similar for the One M8 flagship and the slightly lower-end E8.

According to the mobile hub, one of the upcoming HTC phones for 2014 packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, which is actually higher than the 2.3GHz CPU of the M8, 2GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 801 chipset.

Meanwhile, HTC will also release a more affordable handset in the Desire 616. The handset does not carry specs as good as the One E8, though for casual and average users, the features and specs of this Android device would be able to meet their needs.

The Desire 616 packs a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, an octa-core CPU, MediaTek MT6592 chipset, and 4GB of internal memory. The phone has 1GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2MP front cam.

Both smartphones have dual-SIM compatibility, which is a very important feature in this emerging market.

In the report, the HTC One E8 will be priced around $580 while the Desire 616 will cost around $280.
