In the panel interview for his new USA Network show "Dig" at Comic Con, showrunner Tim Kring also answered inevitable questions for the "Heroes Reborn" reboot.

The13-episode mini-series will reportedly have a similar format to FX' "American Horror Story" and "Fargo." The new "Heroes"will have a complete story-a set beginning, middle and end.

"I think that this has now become a very modern style of making content," Kring commented about the show format. "The 'event series'-or mini-series, whatever you want to call them-which can be open-ended in success, but rather than looking at it at an ongoing series, you look at it as a franchise, or a sequel, or a prequel... an event."

Regarding the first "Heroes" series, Kring adds, "I had always thought that 'Heroes' lent itself - because it is about multiple characters in the world, and an undisclosed number of characters - that we could repopulate the show and start with a fresh story."

The "Heroes Reborn creator believes that "it maybe is the right time for a rebirth" of the superhero series.

In other news, Zachary Quinto, who plays Sylar in the original series, has expressed his interest in reprising his evil villain role for the reboot. He admitted, however, that it would be highly unlikely that he will return.

"I've been talking to Tim and I'm really excited that they're doing that show," the 37-year-old actor told The Wrap in an interview. "I don't really see the room for me to be involved at this point, just based on my schedule. But, I'm not sure if it will work out just based on availability alone."

He does, however, promises to watch the show and be "a part of it any way I can."

On the other hand, Ali Larter, who played Niki Sanders in "Heroes," confirmed that she won't be reprising her role as the girl with the violent alter ego.

"When I saw that, I was like, 'Wow! Great!' I'm super happy for [creator Tim Kring], and if that's what he wants to do I think that's fantastic," Larter said about "Heroes Reborn."

She added, "It was an amazing time in my life. The first season of the show will forever be one of the best times I've ever had. It was just a really special time. For that, I hope that it work out well for them, and I wish them only the best."

Larter will be appearing as an FBI agent in the upcoming TNT series, "Legends," alongside Sean Bean.

It looks like "Heroes Reborn" will be start as soon as production for "Dig" finishes.
