19 year old striker, Julian Green is making efforts to belong to the German Champions, Bayern Munich. Green, who is of German and American descent, has been chosen by US Coach Jurgen Klinsmann to join the US National Team in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. In return, the young soccer player gave his coach a spectacular volley during his first touch of the soccer ball in Brazil. Green said "The goal was very special to me. It gave me a lot of confidence."
Now that he has made his mark with the US national team as well as to his coach, Green would want to build that same confidence now to his Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola. Guardiola has decided to keep Green in to the team instead of loaning him to others.
According to Green ""I just want to show the coach I can help him and if I get my chance I will try my best. The relationship is very good. I feel the trust with him (Guardiola). It's very important for a young player. I want to repay the trust from him." He added "The most important thing right now is Bayern. I'm not thinking about a loan or something else. I'm playing for Bayern Munich and I want to stay."
Green had a slight knee injury in which he said that he has fully recovered. He is now preparing for a game with Bayern on a two US warm up matches for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign. The warm up games slated will start this Thursday in suburban New York against Chivas of Mexico and the other next week against the Major League Soccer All-Stars.
Green has said "It's a special game. I'm looking forward to seeing all my teammates from the national team. Coming with Bayern, it's very exciting. I'm looking forward to playing and showing how good Bayern Munich is."
For Green, the trip to Brazil was a learning experience for him saying ""I saw the best players in the world. I look at (Cristiano) Ronaldo and Xavi and the way they made it (to the top). At 19, it's very important to have this experience. But right now, everything starts new and I'll do my best."
