New characters are added in NBC's new TV series, Constantine.

Unleash the Fanboy reports, that five DC characters are joining the cast of Constantine include the very attractive magician Zatanna, the demon Etrigan, the wondering spirit Boston Brand a.k.a. Deadman, the powerful mystic Madame Xanadu, and the mysterious creature called Swamp Thing.

Constantine TV series will focus on John Constantine's (Matt Ryan) work on the paranormal and supernatural forces, and we will likely see these characters in the show due there mystical and supernatural backgrounds.

In the New 52 DC Universe, these six individuals banded together to form the Justice League Dark, to fend off any magical and supernatural threats that the regular Justice League could not handle.

Aside from the Justice League Dark, Papa Midnite also joins the cast of the show.

According to reports from movie website ScreenRant, the show's executive producer David S. Goyer and co-writer Daniel Cerone confirmed that Papa Midnite will appear in the season 1.

Cerone: "Yep, he will. We’ve already got him pencilled into two early episodes."

Goyer: "He’ll be a recurring character."

Cerone: "We’re literally casting this week."

Papa Midnite is a New York mob boss and skilled voodoo practitioner cursed with immortality, who by turns finds himself fighting against and reluctantly allied with John Constantine. He has his own brand of magic and skill that can rival Constantine's cunning and trickery.

Meanwhile, ComicBook.com reports that John Constantine might be the new Doctor Fate in the show. Doctor Fate's helmet was an easter egg in the show's new trailer and it was hinted that the first Doctor Fate Kent Nelson will make an appearance in Constantine. The new issue of the Constantine comics titled The New 52 Future End: Constantine sees John wearing the helmet as he becomes the new Doctor Fate.
