Despite the alleged efforts of the CBCP to get the Fifty Shades of Grey movie banned in the Philippines, it won't happen. But the film would be heavily toned down after requests by some religious groups in the Philippines.

In a report by the Manila News Online, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie would be heavily toned down in the Philippines after requests from some activists from the religious groups, Couples for Christ, Youths for Christ and Kristiyanong Totoo (True Christians) to the The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board of the Philippines to tone down the sexual scenes in the film.

In the report by the MNO, The MTRCB reportedly accepted their requests but denied the plea by the CBCP to ban the Fifty Shades of Grey movie in the Philippines. The MTRCB would look into cutting the sex scenes in the movie and MNO speculated that depending on the length of the movie, a good 10 minutes could be cut from the film.

In a report by the Manila News Online, a spokesperson from the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines or CBCP has said that they do not want the Fifty Shades of Grey movie to be shown in the Philippines.

It was previously reported that the spokesperson for the CBCP reportedly said that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie promotes indecent and immoral behavior to the public and since the movie would have to be rated at R-13 at the least, the film could be seen a number of young teenagers who may copy what the film would portray.

This is not the first time that the CBCP protested the screening of a film in the Philippines. The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines actively protested the ban of the Da Vinci Code, Noah and the Harry Potter series.

The CBCP is also looking into the ban of the One Direction Concert in Philippines following the leaked video of the group allegedly smoking Marijuana.
