Tweets Social Media, 77,000 Facebook Followers: Some social media fans continued to link the 'woman in black' to the escalating fighting in Gaza even after she has ended her journey through the Appalachias and arriving in Winchester, Virginia, where he father once lived.

In response to the hashtag #womaninblack, one person tweeted: “People are talking about a mysterious #WomanInBlack.. Does it have anything to do with #Gaza?”

@dogmaticfan raised another question, “is it Hamas?” and yet others tweeted that the woman in black is “The #gaza strip ghost.”

“Is it true that the #WomanInBlack walks for murdered Muslims all around the world? #USA #Gaza #GazaUnderAttack #SupportGaza #BoycottIsrael” said another puzzled social media user while @Othmanbay described the woman in black as the “#Muslim woman wearing black abaya.”

Rich Gillis asked on Facebook, asked if she was a Muslim due to her black garb. She had asked her brother where to get a black robe after she shaved her head. He said that the woman in black identified as Elizabeth Pole was not a psychiatric patient but that something was going on with her. The police believe that Pole was on a faith journey and not one for a specific religion.

Though #WomaninBlack has requested anonymity, she now has a fan base of 75,000 facebook followers.

Winchester Police Department's public information officer Lauren Cummings told reporters, "She's doing well, she has expressed her desire to live in Winchester," adding, ""[Poles] is familiar with the area, she had lived here at a different point in her life and she wanted to come back. We asked the public to please respect her privacy, and Winchester has done so. She is seen out and about, walking, and no more crowds have formed around her since Tuesday night."
