Dan Haren didn't have the best of luck during his last five starts but last night was the end of that swelling adversity. Hare took the mound on the sixth inning and went on to assist the Dodgers win the game against the Angels. He said "''I've just been trying to have a perfect inning."

Dodgers owe their win to both Haren and Kenley Jansen flexibility. Haren pitched three-hit ball into the eighth inning, and Matt Kemp homered in the Dodgers' 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. According to Haren "I tried almost everything, and it finally started working a little bit."

Haren had lost his last five starts with a 10.0 ERA. Because of this, he has been leaving the games all sad and worried but his last game did him proud.

According to Dodgers manager Don Mattingly "It was nice to take him out of a game with a smile on his face instead of feeling like he let everybody down."

Angels manager Mike Scioscia also was impressed by Jansen's pitching. He said "Jansen made good pitches when he needed to against three of our best hitters. ''We didn't do nearly what we needed to do to support Matty Shoemaker. I thought he gave us a good chance to win."

Erick Aybar singled and scored in the eighth for the Angels while Hank Conger's one-out single in the sixth was the Angels' first hit. According to Conger "With a guy like him, you kind of disregard his past starts. ''Because any day he could step on the mound and do what he did tonight. He's been an elite pitcher for a long time."

Haren has also played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Washington Nationals. He is a three-time MLB All-Star.

With this victory, the Dodgers are on their way to a great kick off. Haren is now highly motivated to win more games for the team which will greatly impact the next few games.

As Haren has said during their preview match "I should be pitching better. I feel bad for the fans. It's the toughest time of my career," he really made sure that he can pull out a better version of himself.
