The MTV Video Music Awards 2014 team announced on Thursday that Beyonce will be among the performers at the music channel's annual awarding ceremony, said LA Times. Aside from what everyone expects to be another epic performance from the pop diva, Beyonce's VMA appearance will also be to honor her with a special lifetime achievement award.
Beyonce is the latest artist to join the confirmed lineup of performers for the MTV Video Music Awards 2014, which include Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5.
Beyonce's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2014 is highly anticipated, following her history of sensational VMA performances.
LA Times recalled how the diva hung from the ceiling for her first showing as a solo act in 2003, and caused Internet hysteria when she revealed she was pregnant at the end of her 2011 performance of "Love On Top."
Some hope that Beyonce will reunite with her former group, Destiny's Child, for her MTV Video Music Awards 2014 performance. The girl group's last reunion performance was during the 2013 Super Bowl.
MTV News also reported that Beyonce will also be recognized with the MTV Video Music Awards 2014 highest honor: the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Other iconic artists who have received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award lifetime achievement honor include Madonna, Beastie Boys, U2, George Michael, Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.
Beyonce has been in the news lately because of her "On The Run" tour with rapper husband Jay-Z. The couple has also been dodging rumors claiming the hip-hop superstar has cheated on his wife and mother of 2-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
To date, both Beyonce and Jay-Z have not addressed the cheating rumors.
The MTV Video Music Awards 2014 will air live on Aug. 24 from the Forum in Inglewood. According to LA Times, this year's VMAs will be the first awards show to broadcast from the Forum since it reopened earlier this year after a $100-million makeover by Madison Square Garden Co.
