Is the Lebron James and Kevin Love team-up enough to win the championship for the Cleveland Cavaliers? The three time MVP and former Miami Heat superstar says the Timberwolves forward has very high IQ and would definitely help the struggling Cavs.
In a report by ESPN, Lebron James was all praises for Kevin Love, who was his teammate in the 2012 Olympics where the USA won the basketball gold medal, saying that, "If he comes aboard, I will be very excited to have him."
"I don't even really care about the 26 [points] and 12 [rebounds], I care about his basketball IQ. His basketball IQ is very, very high. I had the opportunity to spend 32 days with him in the 2012 Olympics. He was huge for us ... he's a great piece."
However, the former Miami Heat superstar was very guarded in his comments regarding the possible Lebron James and Kevin Love team-up because of league rules that says a rookie could not be traded until August 23.
The 2014 No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins as well as the 2013 No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett were reportedly included in the package, along with the 2015 protected draft pick, for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"I'm not getting my hopes too high on it right now because you don't know what could happen between now and the 23rd," he said, per ESPN.
However, Neil Greenberg of the Washington Post said that oddsmaker don't really put too much stock on the Lebron James and Kevin Love team-up, as it was good only for two more wins. Prior to the rumored trade, oddsmakes had the Cavaliers winning 63 games next season. If the Kevin Love trade materializes, they will win two more games.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are also 5-to-2 favorite to win the championship even with the Lebron James and Kevin Love team-up.
