New updates and gameplay details for Final Fantasy XV have been revealed by director Tetsuya Nomura.
According to reports from Examnier.com, Nomura revealed his plans for the game during last month's San Diego Comic-Con as Gameranx further elaborates that although he showed up in the event, he won't be showing off his latest projects, FFXV and Kingdom Heats 3. Square Enix instead showcased their lineup of games in San Diego Comic-Con 2014,such as Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris, Nosgoth as well as spin-off titles from the Final Fantasy and Hitman series.
Despite skipping several events, a Square Enix producer previously hinted that fans could hear more about FFV and Kingdom Hearts 3 in other conventions later this year.
According to reports from Gematsu, Nomura shared some new details regarding FFXV's gameplay.
"Final Fantasy XV is the first game of the Final Fantasy numbered title that is an action-based RPG. Since the beginning of 3D graphics, Final Fantasy has largely used pre-rendered movies, but what's different about this new hardware is that it allows you to direct what has previously been pre-rendered and make it real-time. For this reason, even in considerably dynamic scenes, the player can still control their character."
He also talked about the realistic graphics that will be integrated into the game.
"Because Final Fantasy XV's theme is 'fantasy based on reality,' the concept for the art is to look like real-world spaces. That a fantasy is happening within this is a major point for Final Fantasy XV. Realizing this power of expression was difficult before PlayStation 4. It has been ages since the last Final Fantasy game was released."
Meanwhile, there are been reports that Square Enix will have a new playable demo for FFXV.
Cyberland has reported that the new FFXV demo is rumored to be showcased in the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2014.In a different report it was revealed that Square Enix is planning a March 2015 release for Kingdom Hearts 3 and a May 2015 release date for FFXV.
