Kim Sae Ron's family has accused her former management agency of committing financial misconduct by lying about paying her hospital bills and trying to scam them.

As concerned groups came to Kim's aide, Kwon Young Chan, head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, reportedly spoke on Kim's family's behalf in an interview on March 25, rebutting claims made by Kim's ex.
This man goes by "K." K accused Kim's family of failing to help her during her personal struggles. Kwon denied the accusations, saying K had only been dating Kim for a year and had little idea of the circumstances.
Kwon also expressed worries about payments for Kim's emergency surgery, which her former company allegedly paid with an outflow of 5 million KRW (about USD 3,410).
However, critics questioned the amount, saying it was extremely high for a procedure that should have been mostly covered by insurance.
Medical documents bearing Kim's legal name, Kim Ah Im, verified her hospital admission but did not offer a detailed account of the charges.
The documents also described her as a "100% insurance-covered" patient, adding to the questions about the need for the payments.
"A total 5.40 million KRW (around $3,680 USD) has been paid, but receipts do not include itemized charges.

That looks like a 'card-kkang' transaction to be exact," Kwon said, a phrase referring to a practice where loans taken out by credit cards are camouflaged as product purchases.

Kwon said an investigation with the hospital established that part of the bill had been charged to Kim's mother's credit card.
G4S staff at the hospital claimed the person who made the payment later came back to collect leftover money, suggesting Kim's mother had paid part of the bill and that excess funds were handed back to the agency's staff.
Kim's family has tried reaching out to her old manager for clarification but has been unsuccessful.
Kwon said he suspected the manager was involved in both the financial arrangements and prior leaks about Kim's personal life.
"We tried to ask where the 5.40 million KRW was actually used, but we can't contact him," Kwon said. "He was very close to Kim Sae Ron, even taking charge of cooking all her meals.
But every time she attempted her comeback, personal information kept leaking.
Then, Lee Jin Ho would post videos amplifying unverified claims about her private life, exacerbating public negativity. "I find it hard not to suspect that B was the source of those leaks."
The allegations come as Kim Sae Ron continues to face scrutiny during her offscreen life.
Her family has always insisted they were there to support her through both her battles and the financial questions and has said they will keep looking for answers related to the money issues.
