Here are a few more facts about this talented actress
1. Jung Yu Mi is often confused with another actress who has the same name. The other actress, who is a year younger, was Jung Joon Young's virtual wife on "We Got Married" and played Han Ji Min's villainous half sister in "Rooftop Prince." The other Jung Yoo Mi briefly considered changing her name but then decided against it. She also currently has a drama role in "Mother's Garden."
2. It's not the first time that Jung Yu Mi worked with Moon Jung Hyuk a.k.a. Shinhwa's Eric Moon. Nor is it the first time she has kissed him on the small screen. At a press conference for their drama, he and Jung Yoo Mi talked about how their attitude towards kiss scenes had changed since they co-starred in the 2007 drama "Que Sera Sera."
"When we filmed a kiss scene seven years ago, we would get very shy and blush after filming," said Eric. "Now we just do it and say 'Okay! We're done. Let's go.'"
Jung Yu Mi nodded in agreement.
3. She told Eric to stop working out and he did.
" I stopped exercising because Jung Yoo Mi told me to stop," he said. "When I was younger, I was envious of the older actors' wrinkles. I thought the wrinkles show how much they lived and allow them to express certain things in acting too. But when I started working out a lot for this project, I lost a lot of weight and gained wrinkles."
She told him to stop to avoid getting more wrinkles.
4. Her most recent film is "Manhole," in which she plays the older sister of a kidnapped girl. Her last non-cameo role in a k-drama was playing Bong Soo A in "Dating Agency: Cyrano."
The film role she is best known for is playing the advocate in "Silenced," also known as "The Crucible," a film about the real-life abuse of deaf children. To play the role, she had to learn sign language. She described her character as someone who seems strong and heartless at first.
"But when she sees people suffering she feels concerned for them," said Jung Yu Mi told Star Date.
5. She co-starred in "Silenced" with Gong Yoo, who was before that best known for his roles in romantic comedies such as "Coffee Prince." She had never worked with him before. When the Star Date interviewer asked if he was as romantic as he seemed in dramas, she said she was not sure.
"I don't know if he's a romantic guy or not but he's very sweet," she said. "He's not that different from his image."
