Talk show host Seth Meyers recently dished on what people may expect of him hosting this year's Emmys.

Meyers revealed that this year's show will have a much lighter tone compared to that of last year and this was made possible through the help of a group of writers that he assembled himself, according to Rolling Stone.

The host specifically tapped his "Late Night" staff, "Chappelle's Show" co-creator and co-writer Neal Brennan, former "Saturday Night Live" writer John Mulaney, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and more, he told The Hollywood Reporter.

"Everyone at the Emmys is there because their work is being honored, so I don't picture my position as tearing that down. But as a comedian hosting the event like this, I think you can poke fun about the fact that we're taking it all a little seriously," he said.

In a separate interview with E! News, Meyers also confirmed that he does not have any plans to sing or dance on the show.

"I can't sing and I can't dance. We can leave that to other people. If you're going to sing or dance at the Emmys, you have to be good at it. It's not something I want to try out on that night," he said.

The "Late Night" talk show also confirmed that his good friends, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will be called to the stage to help spice up the night, News.co.au reported.

"I know two very funny ladies who will be getting a phone call from me," he dished.

And as for the kinds of jokes he plans to throw at his audiences, Meyers only has this to say, "My experience is best stuff comes together as we get closer. I come from a long line of procrastinators at SNL. You want to keep the jokes fresh and you don't want to spend too much time with them."
