UFC women's bantamweight champion has had four regular training partners in Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir and they have been dubbed as Four Horsewomen in UFC.
But recently, one particular UFC fighter has been picking on these"horsewomen" one by one and the queen bee does not like it.
Undefeated Bethe Correia of Natal, Brazil has already fought and conquered two of the four horsewomen namely Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke. Correia defeated Duke via unanimous decision at UFC 172 in April while she put Baszler on his knees last Saturday night during UFC 177's main card at Sleep Train Arena.
Now, Correia only has two more women to face and it definitely won't be Marina Shafir as she has just two pro MMA fights and isn't ready to step in.
During the postfight interview, Correia challenged Ronda Rousey saying "I have a message for Ronda Rousey. I want her belt and I'm coming to take it. The belt is going to be mine."
According to UFC president Dana White "As soon as [Correia] started talking, [Rousey] texted me and said, 'I want that fight; I want it now,' I want it before someone else beats her,' and I said, 'Calm down, lady. You've got other people to fight. We'll figure it out.'"
But White could not let Rousey fight Correia as Rousey still has a lot of other far more better options on the table.
Correira made sure that he gets his message straight that he is a good fighter and did not just had her wins by luck. He said "A lot of people was saying that I fight for points. But I wanted to go in there and I wanted to show that I can finish fights and I can't leave it all in the hands of the judges. ... I'd love to have a chance at the title, I'd love to be champion. I have three fights in the UFC I'm undefeated right now. I feel like if I would have the chance at the title I would go in there and I would make the most of it."
