Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri are enjoying the high life. They are bound to arrive in New York this Thursday for the final leg in a 27,000-mile tour to promote their Nov. 22 WBO welterweight title fight in Macau, China.
For the said promotional event, both fighters travelled from Macau, Shanghai, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and, on Thursday, New York.
When someone commented to Pacquiao on how hard he worked for his matches he answered "This isn't work. It's fun."
Last Wednesday's promotion in Los Angeles, Pacquiao jokingly stand on top of a chair just to emphasize the height difference between both fighters. During the promotional tour where both fighters had to face each other, Pacquiao had to look up to Algieri just to see him eye to eye. Pacquiao stands 5'6" while Algieri is at 5'10".
Both boxers are getting along well as the promotions went on and they even stop to watch the San Francisco Giants' game and a Los Angeles Dodgers game.
When a reporter told Pacquiao at The Venetian in Las Vegas that he looked bored and disinterested in the fight, he answered "This is the press tour and we're traveling around, having fun, and everybody is friends. Once I get into training camp, everything will change."
On the other hand, news about the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight has been circulating once more as promoter Bob Arum confidently stated that Mayweather will accept the fight against Manny Pacquiao this spring.
Many have been wondering if the fight will ever happen as Mayweather has vehemently said that he will not fight Pacquiao.
Pacquiao has also been asked countless times why the fight between them doesn't seem to push through. This time around the Pacman has some juicy answers. He said "[He isn't scared] of fighting. but perhaps of what one night could do to his zero losses. I think I finally understand him...what he says...how he acts...and I don't like it. But what I learned and heard from him, well, I realize why he is like that. I understand sometimes when the people are not educated, they just talk to talk. He sets a very bad example."
