NBC has picked up "Parenthood" for its sixth and final season and although the series will only have 13 episodes for its final run, this does not mean that the plot will be boring.
In fact, the show's executive producer, Jason Katims, has already revealed some of the most shocking spoilers that fans need to watch out for to date.
Katims confirmed that this season, the show's storyline will be more "cohesive and inclusive." This means that Amber's boyfriend, Ryan, will return during episode 3. Last season, Amber was also featured inside a doctor's clinic, and speculations of a possible pregnancy heightened after this new season's trailer was released, according to Hallels.
Other than Amber's possible pregnancy, the Braverman's will also look up to a new head of the family. Last season, it was Adam who acted as the family's leader on behalf of his troubled father.
Meanwhile, Joel and Julia's relationship has been in jeopardy throughout season 5 and if back then, it was Julia who wanted to get back together with Joel and fix their marriage, this season, it seems that the tables will be turned, IBTimes reported.
In an interview with TV Line, Katims dished, "I didn't want to come back this season and have it feel like, 'Oh, everything is fine, and they're back to the way it was. I feel like that would be cheating the audience out of watching what would really happen. We're continuing to tell that story, and we pick up with them being separated."
It's also highly likely that Julia will be moving on with her ex-boyfriend from college, Chris, played by actor Coby Ryan McLaughlin.
Additionally, Katims also confirmed that one Braverman will die towards the end of the season. "We've never told a story about losing someone in the family, and that is a very difficult story for us to tell. But it's one that I feel is a reality," she said.
"Parenthood" is slated to return to NBC on September 25 at 10 p.m.
