Playboy 1986 Joan Rivers Tribute To Robin Williams Revisited: 'His Mind Is Just Wonderful. He Does What I Do'. In an apparent coincidence two of the biggest names in showbiz and comedy have died within a timeframe of just weeks - Joan Rivers died Thursday at the age of 81 and Robin Williams was 63 when he died on August 11. According to emerging reports after the death of Rivers, an interview with Playboy in 1986 that has been unearthed.


She described Robin Williams as one of her favorite comedians. “His mind is just wonderful. I respect him because he does what I do," she said, adding, “He takes nothing for granted. He knows exactly what he’s doing. Robin Williams is one of those people I’ll wait in the rain to see."


In an article for Time magazine, the Fashion Police host wrote, "Robin was one of the great interviews," adding, "You’d see him coming down that red carpet and you knew, okay, now we’re gonna have fun. We’re not gonna hear the usual, ‘Yes, we all love each other on the set' ... It’s like you open the capsule and everything came out, all the air came rushing out. You popped the champagne cork when you said hello to him."


Joan Rivers who was part of the reality show Apprentice, was honored by Donald Trump on Twitter, “Joan Rivers @Joan_Rivers was an amazing woman and a great friend. Her energy and talent were boundless. She will be greatly missed."


Joan Rivers also had a close friendship with Prince Charles and Camilla, and she was present at their wedding at 2005. Prince of Wales said in a statement: 'Joan Rivers was an extraordinary woman with an original and indefatigable spirit, an unstoppable sense of humour and an enormous zest for life. She will be hugely missed and utterly irreplaceable,' the Daily Mail reported.

Rivers suffered from a cardiac condition during an outpatient surgery on her vocal chords. She was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she died.
