Lianne Sanderson admits she still has to pinch herself every time she pulls on an England shirt to represent the Lionesses.
The Boston Breakers striker was recalled to the international fold after spending more than three years in the international wilderness following a fall-out with former England manager Hope Powell.
But current national team boss Mark Sampson called the 26-year-old up for his first training squad in La Manga and Sanderson has gone on to score four goals for England this year.
"For me it's a dream come true to play for England again," Sanderson told Sky Sports. "I've always been proud to play for England and I sound like a stuck record but to be back in the team again is unbelievable.
"Everyone's been great with me. I can't thank the girls, the staff and everybody enough for the way they've treated me since I've come back into the setup.
"I was really nervous in La Manga but as soon as I got there it felt like I'd never been away. Everyone's been really supportive and it's great to be back."
On Thursday, Sanderson was named in Sampson's squad for England's final World Cup qualifier in Montenegro on September 17.
With a place at Canada 2015 secured, England's following game will be the prestige friendly against Germany at Wembley Stadium on November 23.
Sanderson's former Arsenal team-mate Alex Scott played at Wembley for Team GB during the London Olympics 2012 and admits she cannot wait to return there with England later this year.
"I've been there but I haven't been there in an England shirt," Scott said. "That's a big carrot for all the girls. It's every girl's dream to play at Wembley.
"It's massive playing against the Germans as well so we hope the fans come out and support us and be that twelfth man just like they were for Team GB. Hopefully we can fill it out."
