Gwyneth Paltrow is converting to Judaism according to reports after her split with her British singer husband Chris Martin earlier this year. Sources told Page Six that the actress is quietly converting after years of following Kabbalah. The said belief originated in Judaism. Reportedly, Paltrow had said she wanted to raise her daughter, Apple, 10, and son, Moses, 8, in a Jewish environment.

On a different occasion as reported by DailyMail, the Oscar-winner revealed her children were being raised in a Jewish environment. This happened at a London event hosted by Jewish charity the Community Security Trust.

Reportedly, last year, the actress refers to herself as "the original Jewish mother" because she enjoys cooking for people while promoting her cookbook "It's All Good."

"Creating a meal for family and friends, sitting together, eating, laughing and talking, that's when I'm happy," she said.

"Oh my God, if you saw the amount of food that I do. I am the original Jewish mother. I make meals from these new recipes that look, smell and taste like the food I always cooked, but are also super healthy. That is an additional joy."

According to Page Six, Paltrow appeared on NBC's "Who Do You Think You Are?" in 2011 and described how her family came from a long line of influential Eastern European rabbis.

In an interview back in 2006 with Guardian, she revealed that her father was descended from a Russian rabbinical dynasty. She said, "Like, 17 generations of rabbis - you see, I really am a Jewish princess!"

According to reports, the "Iron Man" actress' late father, film producer Bruce Paltrow, is a Jew, while her mother, Blythe Danner, is a Christian. Paltrow has previously publicized that she was raised both Jewish and Christian, which "was such a nice way to grow up."

Paltrow's rep has not confirmed anything about the news yet.
