Serena Williams dominated the Final match of the Women's Single in the US Open. Williams made history by winning her 3rd US Open in a row and 18th major singles title Sunday night.

But before this particular event, Williams was able to talk to coach Patrick Mouratoglou discussing the reasons why she has been struggling with the couple tournaments that she has joined.

Williams was coming off a third-round loss at Wimbledon, which followed a second-round loss at the French Open, which followed a fourth-round loss at the Australian Open.

That is the reason why her win in the US Open was bittersweet. The quest to match Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova at 18 was weighing on her. She said "It was definitely on my shoulders. It was definitely like, 'Oh, get there. Get there. Get there."

Williams also said "It was a really wonderful feeling. I couldn't have finished things in a better way. It is a pleasure for me to win here, I am really emotional. I couldn't ask to do it at a better place."

Williams beat old time pal Caroline Wozniacki in Sunday's final with a stunning 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Wozniacki commented of Williams "When Serena is on her game. There's not much we can do."

She sends her congratulation to Williams saying "Congratulations to Serena. She really deserved it today and played better than me. She is an inspiration to me on and off the court and an unbelievable friend - and you definitely owe drinks later"

Mouratoglou knew that Williams and Wozniacki were friends but the coach also knew that it didn't matter one bit to Williams who she was facing.

He said "Yeah, they're friends. But on the other side, believe me, Serena has zero friends."

He also noted that Williams was disappointed in her Wimbledon early exit. Williams said "After Wimbledon, I was just so disappointed. I also realized I just needed to relax a little more. I put a lot of pressure on myself. I don't have to put pressure on myself."

In the end, it was a great game coming from two of the best tennis players.
