"The Killing" TV series cast Michelle Forbes has inked the lead role of Retro Girl in PlayStation's "Powers." Co-star Joel Kinnaman, meanwhile, has transferred management team as he signed with WME.
According to Entertainment Weekly, aside from "The Killing" TV series cast Michelle Forbes, Sharloto Copley of "Maleficent" was also tapped to play the other lead, Christian Walker.
Christian Walker is described by the website as charismatic that has "the dissolute air of a faded rock star and the body of a battered heavyweight." The character, however, lost his superhero power when he fought a supervillain.
Now struggling with his humanity, he now works as a detective in the Powers community trying to protect ordinary civilians.
"The Killing" TV series cast Michelle Forbes' Retro Girl, meanwhile, is described as having a "cool, hard exterior with a fire right below the surface."
Everybody in the Powers community look up to Retro Girl for being a defender of justice, for being very generous and also a sharp business savvy.
"Her willingness to put herself at risk for the good of others is matched only by her ability to manage her globe-spanning personal brand," the site said.
"Powers" is the first project of PlayStation as it gears to compete with Xbox, Netflix and Amazon in producing television shows. The streaming service, Netflix, for one, had a very good initial run producing TV shows with the success of "House of Cards."
Meanwhile, "The Killing" star Joel Kinnaman, report from The Hollywood Reporter said that the Swedish actor has signed on with the William Morris Endeavor talent agency.
Joel Kinnaman will next be seen in "Run All Night" produced by Warner Bros., along with "Taken" star Liam Neeson, and "Child 44," described as a Soviet-era thriller. In that film he will star alongside "Mad Max Fury" star Tom Hardy and "Prometheus" cast Noomi Rapace.
