Seungri, the youngest member of the k-pop group Big Bang, was involved in an accident at about 3 a.m. on the morning of Sept. 12.

According to the Korea Herald, he was driving his Porsche in the direction of Ilsan on the Gangbyeon Expressway in Seoul when he hit a Mercedes Benz driving in another lane. After hitting the Mercedes Benz on the Banpo Bridge, he hit the guardrail and his car flipped over.

The driver and passenger in the Mercedes Benz reported minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. Seungri said that he was not injured but agreed to go to the hospital for a check-up.

SBS News released a report that the singer and "Angel Eyes" actor suffered internal bleeding and required surgery on his liver but YG Entertainment denied that Seungri's injuries required surgery.

"The final test results showed no fractures, but they did find some mild bleeding in the liver, so he is being hospitalized," said the YG Entertainment representative. "He is expected to be in the hospital for about one week for treatment and recovery."

SBS News updated their previous report on the surgery. When they did so, they cited another statement from YG, saying that their previous report was false.

"The medical team made the diagnosis that it's something that will be fully healed if he takes it easy for a week," said the YG representative.

The 25-year-old singer was returning from a party at Club Octagon in Gangnam when the accident happened. The party celebrated the launch of YG's new fashion brand collaboration with Samsung Everland. YG launched "Nona9on", or Nonagon, a casual streetwear brand for young people who identify with YG's biggest stars.
CEO Yang Hyun-seok introduced the brand alongside YG artists Big Bang, Psy, 2NE1, and Epik High.

Despite the fact that the singer was en route from a party, the Yongsan police have already ruled out drunk driving. But, according to Nate, they have not ruled out the possibility that Seungri was speeding when the accident happened. The accident is under investigation and all those who were involved will be summoned for questioning. Seungri will participate in the investigation when he is finished with his hospital treatment.

Because Seungri needs time to recover, he will not participate in the YG family concert in Singapore this weekend.

The accident happened less than two weeks after the k-pop girl group Ladies Code crashed, killing two of its members. It happened three months after actress Gong Hyo Jin was injured in a three-car crash that required her hospitalization and ongoing treatment.
