YouTuber Lee Jin-ho has cast a shadow over the late actress Kim Sae-ron's 2022 driving under the influence incident, alleging that a breakup emotionally shook her with a singer only referred to as "A."

In a video shared Wednesday called "Coffee Truck Sent to Singer Ex-Boyfriend... Kim Sae-ron's Dating Timeline and the Reality of Her KakaoTalk Message," Lee said Kim was not dating actor Kim Soo-hyun, as was thought when she got her DUI.

"There is sufficient doubt about Kim Sae-ron's position that she was dating Kim Soo-hyun until July 7, 2021," Lee said.

"Her real partner, at the time, was a singer called 'A.'

According to Lee, Kim and the unnamed singer were practically a "public couple," often spotted together at events and giving a show of support, such as her sending a coffee truck anonymously to where he was filming.

He claimed that the two started dating in early 2021 and broke up in May 2022.
Lee also referenced KakaoTalk messages and testimony, which showed that Kim spent the night at the singer's family home.

He hypothesized that the breakup with the father of her child, who she had split from shortly before the DUI episode, may have affected the actress emotionally.

Kim was said to be wrapping up shooting on the Netflix drama "Bloodhounds" when the incident took place, with a dubbing session booked for May 17.

She claimed to have canceled the session because she was traumatized by the breakup.

That night, she was said to have been drinking with acquaintances from 4:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., hopping from a street bar to a karaoke room.

Though Lee said that the relationship probably fell apart due to common "couple issues," he was careful not to throw any blame around.

"What is going on is that A is guilty of Kim Sae-ron's DUI," Lee said. "They were both adults and in a serious relationship. I truly hope A's identity stays a secret.

To which she responded, "Do not make baseless speculation."

In 2022, Kim Sae-Ron, who was becoming a rising star after being known for robbing scenes as a child actress, was met with public criticism after a driving-under-influence incident in which they crashed their vehicle into public property. She passed away in 2024.
