Lena Dunham spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about her plans for the four-part update to the all-time favorite Archie comics.
According to the 'Girls' writer and actress, she's "very excited" to be writing for the classic comic. She shared that was quite obsessed with series when she was younger and this writing gig would be "one of those childhood dreams."
Upon rereading the series, Dunham noticed that the values system that Archie and his friends in Riverdale upheld differed from her own.
"It's like two really hot, intelligent women fighting over a redhead," she told Kimmel.
The writer and actress decided to include her own set of values into the new Archie comics.
"I'm going to try to figure out a way to be true to the world of Riverdale while also inserting some of my politics and beliefs and trying not to show breasts," she added.
Despite her desire to bring in her own feminist views in the series, she won't have Betty and Veronica suddenly leave Archie and get attracted to each other instead-despite high demand of that scenario online.
She isn't too keen on that though, saying that "It's a childhood symbol being perverted in this very specific way."
She will, however, introduce reality TV in Riverdale since her version will be set in the present time mixing a lot of her passions "in one big melting pot."
The 'Girls' star also revealed who she thinks is the 'real sex symbol of Riverdale'-and it's not Archie!
"I think Jughead is the hottest one," she admitted, agreeing that her 'Girls' co-star Adam Driver would be a great muscular Jughead Jones for a screen adaptation.
She also talked about her new book, "Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's 'Learned'" with Kimmel.
