Zachary Quinto James Franco: ‘Heroes’ Star Praises And Respects Co-Star For Starting 'Provocative' Discussions!

Zachary Quinto and James Franco will be starring together in the gay-centered film 'Michael.'

The film features the life of "ex-gay" activist Michael Glatze who notoriously renounced being a homosexual man and even vowed to fight against gay rights a couple of years after publishing a book on the issue.

Although Franco will play Glatze's character in the film, he by no means is against gay rights. He has, in fact, been very open in embracing LGBT issues and topics. He has been in LGBT-related movies; "Milk," and "Howl," and even co-directed the movie "Interior. Leather Bar."

His enthusiasm in discussing somewhat taboo topics and being straight at the same time made Zachary Quinto respect him and his actions.

"My feeling about James, in particular, is that he's someone who is really interested in generating a dialogue, and his personal position or perspective on something is almost less important to him than in what that position he adopts will generate in other people," Quinto told Ricky Camilleri in an interview for Huffington Post. "And I think he's a provocateur in that way."

Franco has even posted several photos on Instragram, introducing the 'Heroes' star as his "new lover" and "baby."

Zachary Quinto and James Franco will be playing Glatze and his lover, Benjie Nycum respectively in the new film.

When asked if Quinto finds Franco's devotion to gay rights bothersome, he said that he actually respects the actor-director for that.

"I think it's certainly an issue in society today that warrants provocative discussion," he explained, adding that gay rights is somewhat similar to politics and religious issues-it's there but nobody likes talking about it.

"So I feel like putting it out there, and putting it out there in different ways, is something that's interesting and something that I don't think people should shy away from," he continued. "I have respect for that. I think it's what you do with the dialogue once it's generated that becomes important to our culture."

What do you think about Zachary Quinto and James Franco's bromance? Can they pull off being gay lovers for 'Michael?'
