Singer-actor Park Yoochun, last seen in the political thriller "Three Days" and the film "Sea Fog," now has a library named after him.
The library was opened on Heuksan Island in South Jeolla by one of the JYJ singer's fan clubs, Blessing Park Yoo Chun. It's the second library opened by his fan club, as the first was opened in the same province, in Jangsan Myeon last year.
According to Ilgan Sports, the fan club, which consists of fans over the age of 30, raised approximately $10,000 and donated almost 7,000 books to the new library. The new Park Yoochun library will have a study room and a small theater space with a beam projector.
There's no word on what kinds of books Park Yoochun likes to read when he's not singing or acting but he is known to be a big fan of manga. So, hopefully a few comics will be included, should he ever stop by.
It's not the first good deed done by the fan club that is currently in its fourth year. Inspired by their devotion to their favorite idol, the fan club has done several good deeds in his name.
They began their humanitarian efforts four years ago by donating money to help burn victims get surgery. Since then the fan club has aided children suffering from cancer, donated money to low income families for food and heating bills, provided free lunches for children at community centers and donated heating supplies to the needy elderly.
The fan club is devoted to Park Yoochun, whether he is singing or acting. Both roles have kept him busy this past year. JYJ recently released the album "Just Us," which sold almost 17,000 copies during the first week and topped the music charts in Japan. The group is currently on their "Return to the King" Asian tour and will hold their seventh concert on Sept. 20 in Shanghai.
Over the last few years Park Yoochun has also made a name for himself as an actor. He appeared as a studious scholar in the historical drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" with Park Min Young, Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki. He tried melodrama in "Miss Ripley." He played the lead role in the fusion drama "Rooftop Prince" with co-star Han Ji Min. Then he returned to melodrama for "Missing You" with co-star Yoon Eun Hye. His last drama "Three Days" was a ratings winner.
