The Pacquaio-Mayweather fight has been looming for many years now and many had been asking as to when it will really happen. Many think that will never happen but others are appears optimistic as lately, both camps has been making rounds of talk.
Just recently, the Philippine boxing superstar was challenging the American world champion to "fight me" instead of setting terms.
Pacquiao told AFP "He's all talk. Until now he has not yet agreed to fight me. Instead of blabbing, he should face me atop the ring."
Currently, Pacquiao is preparing to defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight title against another undefeated American, Chris Algieri which will be happening in Macau this coming November.
According to Pacquaio, great fighters do not hide away from challenges and faces them instead. He said "I'm tired of his alibis. If he really wants to fight me, he knows how to reach me. We can fight anytime, anywhere."
The world champion has an outstanding record of 56 wins, then lost five and drawn two fights. He even comments on the recently concluded Mayweather-Maidana fight where Mayweather won the fight.
He said "To me, Maidana won that fight. Mayweather's face and lips were swelling compared to Maidana's unblemished face."
A couple of weeks ago, Mayweather was also asked regarding the impending fight between him and Pacman where he said "I got to go back and talk to my team, I'm not ducking or dodging no opponent. If a Pacquiao fight presents itself, let's make it happen."
He added "I don't think about Pacquiao, I don't even know him. I wish him the best but that's not my focus."
Pacquaio also talked about his incoming fight with Algieri where he said "I'm not taking Algieri lightly. He's taller than me and moves around the ring with savvy. That's why I started my training early."
Pacquaio's assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez said that they are working on their game plan saying "Algieri uses the ring well and he loves to lean on the ropes. We must devise a strategy to counter this. "He's fast, but not as fast as Timothy Bradley. So he can be an easy target for our boxer."
