A woman named Isabella Tanikumi has filed a $250 million lawsuit against Walt Disney Company for allegedly infringing on the copyright of two of her books, "Living My Truth" and "Yearning of Heart."
The woman, whose real name is Amy L. Gonzalez claimed that the story of Disney's "Frozen" is highly similar to the story found in her two books.
Tanikumi also noted 18 different instances that the film paralleled her book, according to Beauty World News.
"These books deal with the story of two sisters who have tragedies, romances, conflicts, isolation and loneliness," Tanikumi said of her two memoirs.
"And there are significant similarities with your movie... just like 'Frozen's' Elsa and Anna, Laura (her older sister) and Isabella had opposite hair colors, both had horses and both shared a deep love for one another," she added.
Tanikumi is also claiming that the setting of the film is similar to the setting of her books. The author also specifically mentioned a part in the film where Elsa accidentally hurts her sister Anna with her wintry magic, which may also be found in her books, MyFox Dallas-Forth Worth reported.
Tanikumi's attorney, William T. Anastasio told E! News, "In response to your query regarding Isabella Tanikumi's claim against Disney, she has requested that I email you the attached Complaint which was filed this past Monday in the Federal District Court. Ms. Tanikumi is a very private individual and does not wish to be interviewed at this time. As the case moves through the Courts I am sure more information will become available concerning her claims."
Meanwhile, Walt Disney Company briefly responded to the lawsuit filed against them by Tanikumi.
In an interview with CNN Money, a spokeswoman for the company said, "This is beyond ridiculous, she needs to let it go."
